As an Illinois electricity customer, you have the power to manage and control electricity costs. That's because the Illinois Electric Service Customer Choice and Rate relief Law of 1997 allows independent Retail Electric Suppliers (RES) like Liberty Power to offer competitive rates based on today's low prices.

What You Need to Know
When evaluating your options, it is important to get information about a supplier and their service plans.

Questions to ask potential suppliers:

How long has the RES been in business?
How many deregulated markets do they serve?
Is the RES financially stable?
What is their record of dependability?
Does the RES have any diversity initiatives?

Information needed to compare offers:

What is the rate?
Is the rate fixed or variable?
What is included in rate?
Are there early termination fees?
What happens at the end of the initial term of the contract?
