Liberty Power assists in raising more than $70,000 for the 17th Annual Sporting Clays Charity Event

Ft. Lauderdale – April 26, 2013

Liberty Power, the nation’s largest independent retail electric supplier, today announced their sponsorship in the 2013 Children’s Miracle Network 17th Annual Sporting Clays Charity Event which took place on April 6 in Hummelstown, Pennsylvania.

The annual event, which raises funds for pediatric services, life-saving equipment, research initiatives, and educational resources, is organized by the Penn State College of Medicine, a Liberty Power customer through energy consultant, World Energy.

Liberty Power was among a variety of sponsors in support of this charitable cause, among them the Penn State Milton S. Hershey Medical Center and World Energy.

“The event was a spectacular success; we had a great turnout, even the weather was perfect. We had more than 90 contributors supporting the event and raised in excess of $70,000 for the Children’s Miracle Network, exceeding last year’s total,” said Jeffrey J. Carter, Associate Director of Facilities Planning and Construction, Penn State College of Medicine. “We are very grateful for Liberty Power’s participation as a gold sponsor and for their enduring support of the children.”

Often compared to golf, this event allows participants to travel a pre-determined course and try their shot at clay targets all the way through. To engage the crowd this year, the parents of one of the children shared their story of the miracle child’s stay as a patient at the Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital.

“It’s always a humbling experience to hear stories of those who have experienced such trying times. We are very thankful to have been offered the opportunity to participate and help in the making of miracles,” said David Hernandez, co-founder and CEO of Liberty Power. “It’s part of our social responsibility to give back to the community.”

The Children’s Miracle Network has raised well over $700,000 throughout the 17-year history of the event. Proceeds benefit the Children’s Miracle Network at the Penn State Hershey Children’s Hospital.

About Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals
Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals raises funds for 170 children’s hospitals across the United States and Canada, which, in turn, use the money where it’s needed the most. When a donation is given it stays in the community, helping local kids. Since 1983, Children’s Miracle Network Hospitals has raised more than $4.7 billion, most of it $ at a time. These donations have gone to support research and training, purchase equipment, and pay for uncompensated care, all in support of the mission to save and improve the lives of as many children as possible.

Liberty Power donates $25,000 to the American Red Cross recovery efforts

Ft. Lauderdale – December 14, 2012

Liberty Power, the nation’s largest independent retail electric supplier, today announced it has donated $25,000 to the American Red Cross in support of the victims of Hurricane Sandy. The company launched a campaign during the month of November to help provide assistance and support to those devastated by the late October superstorm. The campaign, which provided customers with the added incentive of knowing they would be a part of Liberty Power’s efforts to help the American Red Cross deliver assistance to those who need it most, was a huge success.

“The destruction brought on by Hurricane Sandy went beyond homes and businesses. It washed away security and destroyed families, leaving behind only memories. Our customers have so much heart; it is because of their compassion our campaign exceeded its goal and we are able to help those impacted by the storm begin to rebuild their lives,” said Rana Ghosh, Liberty Power’s Chief Marketing Officer.

The Liberty Power donation, which was presented by Mr. Ghosh to the American Red Cross South Florida Region, took place on December 13. The donated funds will go towards providing every day necessities to families displaced by the storm.

“Thank you for your generous donation. Disasters like Superstorm Sandy devastate communities. We are grateful for the compassion Liberty Power Corp has shown as the American Red Cross continues to provide warm meals, shelter and hope to families when they need it most,” said Michael Jalali, Chief Development Officer, American Red Cross South Florida Region.

Recorded as the largest Atlantic hurricane on record and the second-costliest Atlantic hurricane behind Hurricane Katrina, Hurricane Sandy devastated portions of the Caribbean, the Mid-Atlantic, and the northeastern United States. The hurricane affected more than 20 states, several of which are on the eastern seaboard where Liberty Power customers are located.

Liberty Power jumps five spots in rankings and is now recognized as the 13th largest non-residential electric supplier

Ft. Lauderdale – November 13, 2012

Liberty Power, the nation’s largest independent retail electric supplier, today announced its ranking as the 13th largest, non-residential retailer and a top 40 residential retailer based on information provided by the world-renowned industry consultant, DNV KEMA Energy & Sustainability.

Liberty Power jumped five spots from its previous 18th place ranking among non-residential electric suppliers. The gain can be attributed to Liberty Power’s strong organic growth of 25% in a six-month period.

The rankings are published by DNV KEMA in their Retailer Landscape report, a bi-annual assessment of activity and performance among competitive suppliers operating in the restructured or “deregulated” electricity markets. The latest assessment released on September 28, 2012 tracks 89 electricity suppliers. The previous rankings were published in March, 2012.

The rankings are based on estimated, annualized, non-residential kilowatt-hours (kWh) under contract. At the time the survey was conducted, Liberty Power reported over 11.3-billion kWh under contract. According to the Retailer Landscape, Liberty Power has achieved year-over-year growth of 40% by adding 3.2 billion kWh, making it the fastest-growing retail electric supplier in the top 20 on a percentage basis.

“The entire Liberty Power team works tirelessly to provide value and excellent service to our customers,” said David Hernandez, co-founder and CEO of Liberty Power. “We are very excited by the jump in our ranking and will continue to build our business by fostering relationships with our Sales Channels and customers.”

“Growth rates of this magnitude are frequently attributed to mergers and acquisitions among competing retailers,” said Sonny Kanlier, Director of DNV KEMA’s Retail Energy Practice. “In our research, we find that independent retailers rarely enjoy this level of organic growth in a single year,” he added.

Liberty Power has also demonstrated high-levels of growth in its residential business. The company launched in depth residential efforts earlier this year and it already ranks among the top 40 residential retail electric suppliers. Liberty Power serves households in seven states: Connecticut, Illinois, Maryland, New Jersey, New York, Pennsylvania and Texas.

Ft. Lauderdale – May 24, 2012

Liberty Power, one of the nation’s fastest-growing independent energy retailers, today announced the company’s rank as the nation’s largest, completely independent retail electric provider based on information provided by world-renowned industry consultant, DNV KEMA Energy & Sustainability.

DNV KEMA’s Retail Landscape is a bi-annual assessment of activity and performance among competitive retailers operating in the restructured or “deregulated” electricity markets. The latest assessment was released on March 31, 2012 and tracks 96 retailers. The assessment, which utilizes February 2012 data, ranks Liberty Power the 18th largest non-residential supplier of electricity supply overall and the only completely independent retailer amongst the Top 20 competitors. All retailers currently ranked above Liberty Power are publicly-traded, have publicly-traded parent companies, or are backed by large investment firms. Liberty Power remains operated and majority-owned by its original founders, David Hernandez, CEO and Alberto Daire, President and COO.

“Given the large capital requirements for growth in non-residential power markets, we find that most of the top retailers that supply electricity to the commercial and industrial customer segments are utility affiliates or are subsidiaries of public companies,” said Young Kim, associate director of DNV KEMA’s Retail Energy Practice. “In our research, we find that independent retailers are more common in the mass market segment,” he added.

The rankings are based on estimated, annualized, non-residential kilowatt-hours (kWh) under contract. At the time the survey was conducted, Liberty Power reported over 9-billion kilowatt hours under contract. According to the Retail Landscape, Liberty Power unit sales have nearly quadrupled over the last three years. The company is also only one of five retail electric providers in the Top 20 to demonstrate double-digit percentage growth since the previous reporting period, adding one-billion kilowatt-hours over the last 6 months.

“We are truly humbled to be recognized as the largest, completely independent retail electric provider. Liberty Power has come a long way over the last decade and our success is directly tied to our loyal customers, as well as the relentless focus of our sales channels and employees on delivering value to those customers,” stated David Hernandez, co-founder & CEO.

Liberty Power continues to rapidly expand its residential market presence to meet customer demand

Ft. Lauderdale – May 8, 2012

Liberty Power, one of the nation’s fastest-growing and largest independent energy retailers, today announced it has launched residential programs in Connecticut and Maryland. In doing so, Liberty Power is expanding the availability of its offers to an additional 3 million residents.

The retail electricity supplier first began serving non-residential customers in Maryland and Connecticut during 2006 and 2007, respectively. These residential market entries mark the fifth and sixth states where Liberty Power has a formal residential retail electric program, joining New York, Illinois, Pennsylvania and Texas. The company has plans to expand its residential program into additional markets later this year.

“We are very excited to be able to provide residents of Maryland and Connecticut with the same kind of low-cost electricity and exceptional customer service that we have been providing business owners in those same markets for more than five years,” stated David Hernandez, co-founder and CEO.

At the time of launch, the company will offer its Home Independence Plan, a fixed-rate product with terms of 12 and 24-months. Liberty Power continues to grow its portfolio of residential products, and additional products may become available to Connecticut and Maryland residents in the future.

Residents who choose Liberty Power as their retail electricity supplier will continue to receive one bill and the same level of service from their local utility, who will still deliver the electricity, maintain the pole and wires, and respond to power outages. There is no sign-up fee, and there will be no interruption in electricity service. Liberty Power also offers competitive rates for commercial accounts. Customers may call 855-776-9377 to sign up by phone.

Liberty Power’s 12-month fixed-rate offer to new residential customers in the ComEd service territory represents the lowest available price on retail electricity supply for similar products*. By enrolling now, residents can lock in a rate of 5.83 cents per kilowatt-hour for one full year. The published rate is valid for contract agreements executed through March 30, 2012. After this date, Liberty Power will publish a new low-rate based on updated market conditions.

“Liberty Power first began serving Illinois businesses in 2007 and officially launched our Illinois residential efforts last October as we aim to offer low-cost electricity and exceptional customer service to all types of customers. We are delighted to provide customers budget certainty while also reducing their electricity supply costs by up to 25 percent,” said Leah Lopez, Executive Vice President.

In addition to offering a low price, Liberty Power will provide customers with a 10-day customers’ satisfaction guarantee, providing customers with a 10 calendar-day right of rescission that allows them to cancel without penalty. Currently, Illinois regulations only require a three day right of rescission on internet and door-to-door sales.

“Our current offer is one of the lowest-priced products available today. We are standing behind our product by providing customers additional piece of mind, giving them ample time to shop around before making a commitment,” added Lopez. Residents who choose Liberty Power as their retail electricity supplier will continue to receive one bill and the same level of service from their local utility, ComEd, who will still deliver the electricity, maintain the pole and wires, and respond to power outages. There is no sign-up fee, and there will be no interruption in electricity service. Liberty Power also offers competitive rates for commercial
accounts. Customers may call 855-376-9371 to sign up by phone.
