Liberty Power Recognized for Business Achievements and Contributions to Community

FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – October 20, 2008 – Liberty Power, one of the fastest–growing, independent retail electric providers in the United States, today announced that co–founder and CEO, David Hernandez, has been recognized by the South Florida Business Journal as a 2008 Diamond Award Winner. Hernandez was awarded the distinction of being one of South Florida´s top CEOs at the 6th Annual Diamond Awards Celebration in Fort Lauderdale, Florida on September 11, 2008.

Each year the South Florida Business Journal seeks to honor top CEOs, COOs, owners and managing partners not only for business achievement, but also for community involvement. This year, Hernandez received the award along with eight other distinguished business and community leaders. Now in its sixth year, the Diamond Award has honored nearly 50 area executives.

"The CEOs that are being honored this year exemplify the leadership, integrity and perseverance that is necessary to help build the social fabric of our community and to improve the quality of life for our businesses and our residents," stated Robin and Mark Levinson, co–owners of Levinson Jewelers, which sponsors the award.

David Hernandez received the award, not only for his leadership in building Liberty Power into one of the largest private companies in South Florida, but also for the commitment that he and his company have demonstrated to the local community.

Diamond Award Methodology

Initial research for this year´s list of honorees was conducted by the Business Journal´s editorial staff, and then voted on by a panel of judges that included newspaper staffers and past winners.
