Liberty Power: Liberty Power Receives Licensing in Illinois and Michigan, Now Able to Provide Power in 14 States
Company’s Expansion in Response to Customer Demand
FORT LAUDERDALE, Fla. – May 10, 2007 – Liberty Power, the fastest growing, independent energy retailer focused on business consumers, today announced it has been granted licenses to sell power by the Illinois Commerce Commission and the Michigan Public Service Commission. This marks the 13th and 14th states to license the fast growing company that is currently expanding its reach across the country to better meet growing demand from business customers.
The recent approvals cap a tremendous and rapid expansion for Liberty Power, which has entered 10 new markets this year.
“Businesses in Illinois and other states that are still buying from their old, monopoly utility are simply paying too much for power,” CEO David Hernandez said. “We´ve been helping customers in New York, Texas, Maryland and Washington, DC save money for over five years and now we´re proud to offer those savings to millions more businesses across the country.”
“Securing licenses in 10 additional states was a challenge, but one that customers demanded and we answered,” Hernandez added. In addition to Illinois and Michigan, Liberty Power has recently been approved to supply energy in Connecticut, Delaware, Maine, Massachusetts, New Jersey, Rhode Island, Ohio and Virginia.
“Expanding into 10 new states will allow our customers to choose the savings and value of Liberty Power´s products in new territories and will help them cut costs and compete more effectively,” Hernandez said.
“Our growth will allow customers to simplify their energy purchases as they can now choose Liberty across a much larger area,” Hernandez said. “Dealing with multiple suppliers across a dozen states can be cumbersome, and customers had told us they wanted to be able to enjoy the savings from Liberty Power in more areas.”
Liberty Power services tens of thousands of business customers and works with many national customers including JC Penney, New York Life and Ryder.
