Corporate Social Responsibility Policies
At Liberty Power, we believe in doing business by doing the right things. We believe that businesses have a responsibility to give back to their communities. We understand the risks and opportunities in our industry and work to develop programs and strategies that are ethical, responsible and transparent.
Areas of Influence
We are committed to providing our customers with reliable service at competitive prices. We are trustworthy and fair, and treat each customer and channel as a valuable business partner with whom we want to have a long-term relationship.
By providing a supportive environment, enriching work experience and offering a competitive compensation plan, we hire the right team members with the right skills. We retain them by evolving to meet their needs continually throughout their employment.
Building a positive and successful corporate culture requires employees who contribute and maintain it. To do so, we first learn what qualities make specific individuals successful members of our team.
- Equal Opportunities
Liberty Power provides equal employment opportunities to all employees and applicants without regard to race, color, religious creed, sex, national origin, ancestry, citizenship status, pregnancy, physical disability, mental disability, age, uniform service member status, marital status, registered domestic partner status, gender (including sex stereotyping), medical condition (including but not limited to, cancer related or HIV/AIDS related) or sexual orientation in accordance with applicable federal, state and local laws. In addition, Liberty Power complies with applicable state and local laws governing nondiscrimination in employment in every location in which we have facilities.
- Continuous Learning and Advancement
Promotion and advancement doesn’t happen in one giant leap. It takes many small steps toward the next level. At every stage in professional development, there are new things to learn. Liberty Power offers both in-house learning opportunities as well as tuition reimbursement at approved institutions of learning.
- Employee Communication
Communication in the workplace is essential for employee engagement. It makes work easier, faster and more satisfying. Liberty Power has a robust intranet for sharing documents and information.
- Pay & Benefits
The value of our total compensation plan is not limited to a competitive salary. It includes comprehensive health care choices based on personal or family need. We also include dental, vision, life, short and long-term disability insurances. Employees are 100% vested upon enrollment in our employer-matched 401K. Team members earn vacation days, personal days and sick days.
We work diligently to incorporate diversity into all business practices, including hiring. Our workforce is diverse, which gives us a wealth of perspectives, fosters humility and open-mindedness, and stimulates innovation. We select ambitious people that want to grow within the company and exemplify the three traits we believe are key: to be humble, hungry, and smart.
Liberty Power has a commitment to fostering diversity throughout its operations. Liberty Power is a member of the National Minority Supplier Development Council and 10 regional councils, the United States Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, the Houston Minority Business Council, among others, and sponsors numerous events that foster economic empowerment in under-represented population segments.
Supplier Diversity is the logical extension of employee diversity. As a Certified Minority-Owned Business, we are dedicated to building relationships with other certified minority, woman and veteran-owned suppliers and vendors. Supplier diversity relationships truly benefit both parties.
Liberty Power is a regulated company, licensed by 16 state Public Service Commissions as well as by the Federal Energy Regulatory Commission. Liberty Power is in good standing with each regulatory body, and in 2008 was named “Outstanding Diverse Business Enterprise” by the National Association of Regulatory Commissioners (NARUC).
- Code of Conduct
Liberty Power team members are expected to accept certain responsibilities, follow acceptable business principles in matters of conduct, and exhibit a high degree of integrity at all times. This not only involves sincere respect for the rights and feelings of others, but also demands that team members refrain from any behavior that might be harmful to themselves, coworkers, the company, or that might be viewed unfavorably by current or potential customers, or by the public at large. Team members are encouraged to observe the highest standards of professionalism at all times.
- Gifts and Hospitality
Both the giving and receiving of gifts and hospitality have an important role in facilitating business practice. There is, sometimes, a fine line between kindness and attempting to influence favors. Liberty Power does not accept gifts or contributions from individuals or organizations whose core activities will in any way limit our ability to provide our services. Liberty Power doesn’t offer or accept gifts with the expectation that the business relationship will be altered, or influenced in some way.
- Truth in Marketing Practices
Liberty Power conforms to all truth-in-advertising rules as laid out by the Federal Trade Commission. We make every effort to make our advertising practices clear and easy to understand. Our sales channels undergo rigorous training so they understand our products and the availability to customer segments. They also must comply with all applicable federal state and local laws. We have written our contracts in easy to understand, consumer-friendly language.

Employee Health and Safety
Liberty Power provides its employees with a safe and healthy work place and follows procedures aimed at safeguarding all employees. Accident prevention and efficiency in production go together; neither should be given priority over the other. Safety is everyone’s responsibility. Every supervisor is expected to devote the time and effort necessary to ensure the safety of employees at all times.
Liberty Power offers various wellness programs to our employees through our health care providers, and has taken additional steps to promote wellness, such as, implementing complete ergonomic workstations, free back and neck massages, and yoga classes.
Liberty Power is a large supplier of Renewable Energy Certificates (RECs) to major corporations and other companies across the country. RECs represent the environmental attributes of the power produced from renewable energy projects and are sold separately from commodity electricity.
Liberty Power takes our impact on the environment and natural resources seriously. Constructive efforts are being made to reduce our business carbon footprint. For energy efficiency, we are in the process of replacing our lights with energy efficient lighting. Additionally, we have installed sensors to automatically turn off lights when not being used. Everyone is asked to turn off their computers and monitors when they leave for the day.
Liberty Power is moving toward a paperless environment by using shared hard drives to save and share documents. If a document must be printed or copied, we require printing on two sides.
We currently provide every team member with reusable coffee mugs. Water coolers are provided in break rooms and conference rooms, instead of bottled water. There is a company-wide recycling project. Every team member has a waste bin and a recycle bin at their desk.
Liberty Power Cares! is our way of giving back to the community we live in. Continually evolving creates not just a strong company, but a strong community. This drives us at Liberty Power. We believe it’s more than corporate responsibility, it’s personal responsibility. And, it’s work you can be proud to do at Liberty Power. You can put your heart and your talent into work that you care about and make an impact.
Liberty Power employees have the opportunity to support non-profit organizations by participating in internal and external activities, both on and off “company time.” Liberty Power currently supports Kids In Distress (KID), which is a nationally-accredited, community-supported agency based in South Florida, specializing in children and families.
