It's a handheld, cordless air horn built from a genuine Milwaukee® M18 impact driver. Inside, the original drill motor is replaced with a high-performance air compressor. Just attach any Milwaukee® M18 battery and it's ready to use — no wiring, tanks, or installation required.

We offer four main configurations, all compatible with Milwaukee® M18 batteries:

- Quad Train Horn — 4 trumpets, up to 140 dB. Fuller, deeper tone with more projection. Our most popular model.
- Quintuple Train Horn — 5 trumpets, up to 130 dB. Maximum spread and tonal depth for the boldest statement.
- Extreme Quad Train Horn — 4 premium trumpets, up to 150 dB. Our loudest and most powerful model with the deepest, most aggressive blast.

How loud are the train horns?
Our portable train horns produce between 130 and 150+ decibels depending on the model. For reference, a real locomotive horn is approximately 140-175 dB. The sound hierarchy:
- Extreme Series Quad — up to 150 dB (deepest, most aggressive blast)
- Quad Trumpets — up to 140 dB (powerful, full-bodied roar)
- Quintuple Trumpets — up to 130 dB (wide spread, commanding tone)
- Dual Trumpets — up to 130 dB (classic, attention-grabbing honk)
All models produce sound instantly with zero delay when triggered.
Which batteries are compatible?
All our train horns are compatible with any Milwaukee® M18 18-volt battery — both OEM and aftermarket. This includes compact (2.0Ah), extended (5.0Ah), and high-output (6.0Ah, 8.0Ah, 12.0Ah) packs. Higher capacity batteries will provide longer run time. If you don't already own one, you can add a battery and charger bundle on the product page.
How long does the battery last?
Battery life depends on the capacity of your Milwaukee® M18 pack and usage pattern. With a standard 5.0Ah battery, you can expect hundreds of short blasts on a single charge. The compressor only draws power during activation, so intermittent use (sporting events, signaling) gives significantly longer run time than continuous blasting. We recommend keeping a spare battery charged for extended events.
Are batteries and chargers included?
We offer two purchasing options:
- Horn-only — for customers who already own Milwaukee® M18 batteries
- Complete kit — includes a compatible M18 battery and charger

Is a remote control included? What's the range?
Yes. Every train horn ships with a pre-paired wireless remote with a range of up to 160 feet. The remote uses two CR2016 batteries (pre-installed and replaceable). For larger properties, event venues, or farm use, the Extreme model includes a long-range remote with up to 2,000 feet of range. Long-range remotes are also available as a separate purchase for any model.
Can I sync one remote to multiple horns?
Yes. A single remote can be synced to multiple train horn units simultaneously. This is ideal for multi-horn setups at car shows, farms, event venues, or theatrical productions. Each horn can also be operated independently via its built-in trigger.
Can I add extra remotes later?
Absolutely. You can pair additional remotes to any of our portable train horns at any time. Purchase spare remotes from our store and follow the included quick-sync instructions. There's no limit to how many remotes you can pair to a single horn.
What's the difference between the DIY Kit and pre-built horns?
Pre-built horns arrive fully assembled and ready to use — just attach your Milwaukee® M18 battery. DIY Kits include all components (compressor, harness, trumpets, remote) but require you to install them into your own Milwaukee® drill shell. The DIY option is great for hands-on builders who enjoy customization and may want to repurpose a drill they already own. Some shell modifications (grinding) may be required depending on the drill model.
Are the train horns waterproof?
Our portable air horns are water-resistant but not waterproof. They can handle light rain and occasional splashes, but should not be submerged or exposed to heavy, prolonged water. After exposure to moisture, allow the unit to dry completely before storing. We recommend keeping the horn in a dry environment when not in use.
Can I mount the horn on a vehicle or boat?
Our train horns are designed for handheld, portable use. We do not recommend mounting under the hood or in engine compartments due to high temperatures that can damage the compressor and electronics. However, many customers successfully mount them in truck beds, on boat decks, or on ATV roll cages where airflow is adequate and temperatures stay moderate. Always ensure the horn is secured and the battery is easily accessible.
Are train horns safe to use? Any precautions?
Train horns are extremely loud devices and require responsible use:
- Always wear hearing protection when operating at close range
- Keep the horn pointed away from people and pets
- Use short bursts rather than sustained blasts
- Never use in enclosed spaces (garages, rooms) — the sound pressure can cause hearing damage
- Be mindful of local noise ordinances in your area
- Disconnect the battery when not in use — the remote receiver draws a small standby current
Is it legal to use a train horn?
Train horn legality varies by state, county, and municipality. In most areas, portable train horns are legal to own and use on private property, at events, on farms, and on watercraft. However, using them on public roads may be subject to local noise ordinances. We recommend checking your local and state regulations before use in public spaces. How do I maintain and store my train horn?
Our drill train horns require minimal maintenance:
- Disconnect the battery after use if you won't use the horn for more than 5 hours — the remote module draws standby power
- Store in a cool, dry place away from direct sunlight and extreme temperatures
- Store batteries fully charged for long-term storage — deeply drained batteries may require a jump-start procedure
- Wipe trumpets with a dry cloth periodically to maintain appearance
- If the charger flashes red/green alternating, the battery is deeply drained (not defective) — contact our support for a quick jump-start tutorial

What warranty do you offer?
All train horns come with a 1-year warranty covering the horn assembly, compressor, and remote control. Batteries and chargers are excluded from warranty coverage as they are third-party components. If you experience any issues with your horn, contact our support team via the website live chat and we'll resolve it promptly — whether that means troubleshooting, replacement parts, or a full replacement.
What is your return and refund policy?
We stand behind our products. If you're not satisfied with your portable train horn, contact us within 30 days of delivery for a return or exchange. Items must be in original condition with all included accessories. Once we receive the return, refunds are processed within 5-7 business days. Shipping costs for returns are the responsibility of the buyer unless the item arrived damaged or defective.
